Solar & Battery Installers in Penrith
Penrith holds the Sydney basin’s heat record. The Bureau of Meteorology’s Penrith Lakes station hit 48.9°C on 4 January 2020, and on average the area sees more than 70 days a year at 30°C or above. When it’s that hot, air conditioners run all afternoon and into the evening. We come out from Narrabeen to install solar panels and home batteries across Penrith and the lower Blue Mountains.
Our services
Residential solar from 6 kW
Our systems generally start at 6 kW. Penrith homes with ducted cooling or a pool often go larger, and we size the system from your bills.
Home batteries
Hot evenings are when you need cooling most and solar is fading. A battery bridges that gap. Eligible batteries get an upfront discount through the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which we take off your quote. For batteries installed by 31 December 2026 it works out at roughly $270 per kWh of usable capacity for the first 14 kWh at current certificate prices, with a smaller discount above 14 kWh. The rate steps down on 1 January 2027.
Commercial solar
Warehouses, workshops and shops around Penrith, St Marys and Emu Plains often run through the hottest part of the day. We’ll give you a clear proposal.
On top of that, the NSW Government’s Peak Demand Reduction Scheme offers an upfront payment if you join a virtual power plant (VPP) through a participating provider. The incentive is calculated on up to 28 kWh of battery capacity.

Keeping panels, inverters and batteries cool
Solar panels lose some output as they heat up, so on a 40°C day they produce less than their rating. We choose panels with a good temperature coefficient and leave a gap under the array for airflow. West-facing panels are worth considering here, because they produce more in the late afternoon, right when the air conditioning is working hardest.
Inverters and batteries also prefer to stay cool. A west-facing brick wall in full afternoon sun is about the worst spot, so we look for shaded walls, garages or carports, and install batteries to the Australian battery standard, AS/NZS 5139. Summer storms can bring hail and strong winds, so we use panels that meet the IEC 61215 standard, which includes hail impact testing.
Frequently asked questions
Do panels work in extreme heat?
Yes, though output drops a little on very hot days. We allow for that when we size your system.
Should my panels face west?
West-facing panels can line up well with afternoon cooling. We’ll model north, east and west options for your roof.
Which network is Penrith on?
Endeavour Energy. We handle the connection paperwork.
