Solar & Battery Installers in Orange
At around 860 metres above sea level, Orange has cold winters, with regular frosts and the occasional snowfall. That means big heating bills, and good reasons to make your own power. We travel to Orange and the surrounding district to install solar panels and home batteries for homes, orchards, wineries and local businesses.
Our services
Residential solar from 6 kW
Our home systems generally start at 6 kW. If you heat with reverse-cycle air conditioning or have switched to electric hot water, you’ll likely benefit from a larger system, and we’ll size it from your bills.
Home batteries
Store your daytime solar and use it on cold nights when heating demand is highest. Eligible batteries get an upfront discount through the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which we take off your quote. For batteries installed by 31 December 2026 it works out at roughly $270 per kWh of usable capacity for the first 14 kWh at current certificate prices, with a smaller discount for capacity above 14 kWh. The rate steps down on 1 January 2027.
Commercial, farm and winery solar
Cool rooms, packing sheds, cellar doors and workshops use a lot of daytime power. We’ll review your usage and tariff and put together a clear proposal.
In NSW you may also be eligible for an upfront incentive under the NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme when you connect your battery to a virtual power plant (VPP). It’s paid on up to 28 kWh of battery capacity, through participating VPP providers.

Getting the most from solar in a cold climate
Solar panels like cool weather, since they lose some efficiency as they heat up, so crisp sunny days in Orange can produce strong output. Winter days are short, though, and snow or heavy frost can briefly cover panels. We set the tilt and layout to make the most of the winter sun and design around your year-round usage, not just summer.
Batteries need the right spot too. Most have operating temperature ranges, so we look at sheltered locations like a garage or shed wall and install to the Australian battery standard, AS/NZS 5139. For orchards and vineyards, we can also look at whether solar on a packing shed or cool room makes more sense than the house roof.
Frequently asked questions
Does snow or frost damage solar panels?

Who is the electricity network in Orange?
