Solar & Battery Installers in Newport

Solar and batteries for Newport homes, units and waterfront properties
All-black solar panels with black frames

Newport has a bit of everything: apartment blocks along Barrenjoey Road, family homes up the hill, and waterfront properties along Pittwater. It’s just up the road from our base in Narrabeen, so getting to you for a site visit is easy. We install solar panels and home batteries for Newport homes, strata buildings and local businesses.

Our services

Residential solar from 6 kW
Our systems generally start at 6 kW. We size from your bills and work with the roof you’ve got, whether that’s a flat roof, a skillion or a classic pitched tile roof.

Home batteries
Use your solar after sunset. Eligible batteries get an upfront discount through the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which we take off your quote. For batteries installed by 31 December 2026 it works out at roughly $270 per kWh of usable capacity for the first 14 kWh at current certificate prices, with a smaller discount above 14 kWh. The rate steps down on 1 January 2027.

Strata and shopfront solar
Unit blocks and shops in the village can share solar on the common roof. Strata buildings usually need owners corporation approval, and we can help with the information they need.

In NSW you may also be eligible for an upfront incentive under the NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme when you connect your battery to a virtual power plant (VPP). It’s paid on up to 28 kWh of battery capacity, through participating VPP providers.

Flat roofs, unit blocks and waterfront homes

A lot of Newport homes and unit blocks have flat or low-pitched roofs. Panels can lie close to flat, but a small tilt helps them self-clean in the rain and lifts output in winter. Tilt frames add wind load, so we use mounting rated for your site’s wind exposure. Waterfront and elevated homes catch strong winds off Pittwater and the ocean, so we check that too.

For strata buildings, the main questions are who owns the roof, how the power is shared between lots, and where a battery could go. Some buildings put solar on the common-area supply to cut shared costs for lifts, lighting and pool pumps. We’ll explain the options so your committee can make a decision. Near the water, we also choose panels tested for salt-mist exposure, such as under IEC 61701.

Frequently asked questions

Can you install on a flat roof?
Yes. We can lay panels close to flat or add a small tilt, depending on wind exposure and appearance.

Can my unit block get solar?
Often. It usually needs owners corporation approval. Common-area solar is a popular starting point.

Who is the network in Newport?
Ausgrid. We handle the connection application.
