Solar & Battery Installers in Lindfield
Lindfield and the surrounding Ku-ring-gai suburbs are known for large established homes, mature gardens and a heavy tree canopy. Parts of the area are heritage conservation areas, and many trees are protected. Solar here takes a bit more planning than on a new estate. We come out from Narrabeen to install solar panels and home batteries across Lindfield and its neighbours, with layouts that respect the streetscape.
Our services
Residential solar from 6 kW
Our systems generally start at 6 kW. Larger Ku-ring-gai homes with pools and ducted air conditioning often go bigger, and we size from your bills.
Home batteries
Use your daytime solar in the evening, when the household is home. Eligible batteries get an upfront discount through the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which we take off your quote. For batteries installed by 31 December 2026 it works out at roughly $270 per kWh of usable capacity for the first 14 kWh at current certificate prices, with a smaller discount above 14 kWh. The rate steps down on 1 January 2027.
Business and strata solar
Shops around Lindfield’s centre, medical practices and strata buildings can all benefit. Strata schemes usually need owners corporation approval.
NSW households can also get a one-off incentive for signing their battery up to a virtual power plant (VPP), under the state’s Peak Demand Reduction Scheme. It applies to up to 28 kWh of capacity and is paid through participating VPP providers.

Heritage conservation areas, slate roofs and protected trees
In a heritage conservation area, solar on a roof that faces the street usually can’t be installed as exempt development, while rear and side roofs often can. If the best roof faces the street, you may need council approval. We’ll look at secondary roofs, garages and carports first, and keep layouts neat and symmetrical. Slate and timber shingle roofs need special care, and NSW heritage guidance suggests avoiding them where there’s an alternative.
Most trees in Ku-ring-gai are protected under council controls, so please don’t prune or remove trees for solar without checking with Ku-ring-gai Council. Where shade is unavoidable, microinverters or optimisers let each panel work independently, so one shaded panel doesn’t drag down the rest.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need approval for solar in a heritage area?
Often not for rear or side roofs. Street-facing roofs in a heritage conservation area usually need council approval. We’ll explain the options for your home.
Can you install on a slate roof?
It’s possible but needs extra care, and heritage guidance suggests choosing another roof where possible. We’ll assess it on site.
Who is the network in Lindfield?
Ausgrid. We handle the connection application.
