Solar & Battery Installers in Forbes

Solar and batteries for Forbes homes, farms and businesses
All-black solar panels with black frames

Forbes is a Lachlan River town in the middle of cropping and grazing country, with hot summers, cool winters and big skies. Many properties run silos, augers, pumps and workshops alongside the house. We travel to Forbes and the surrounding shire to install solar panels and home batteries for households, farms and local businesses.

Our services

Residential solar from 6 kW
Our systems generally start at 6 kW, sized from your bills and roof.

Home batteries
Use your stored solar in the evening. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program cuts the price of eligible batteries, and the discount comes straight off your quote. Installed before the end of 2026, it’s worth around $270 for each kWh of usable storage up to 14 kWh (based on current certificate prices). Storage beyond 14 kWh attracts less, and the rate drops from 1 January 2027.

Farm and agribusiness solar
Grain handling, workshops and pumps can use a lot of power during the day, particularly around harvest. We’ll look at your bills and seasonal use and give you a clear proposal.

On top of that, the NSW Government’s Peak Demand Reduction Scheme offers an upfront payment if you join a virtual power plant (VPP) through a participating provider. The incentive is calculated on up to 28 kWh of battery capacity.

Why Forbes locals choose us

  • Accredited installers. Every system is designed and installed by Solar Accreditation Australia accredited installers, a requirement for rebates.
  • Essential Energy approvals handled. Forbes is on the Essential Energy network. We handle the connection application.
  • Seasonal loads considered. We look at harvest and pumping peaks, not just the average bill.
  • Rebates handled. We apply the federal battery discount and solar certificates for you.
  • Plain advice. No pushy sales.

Harvest loads, floods and long cable runs

Farm power use often comes in bursts: augers and dryers at harvest, pumps in dry spells. Solar works best when it matches your loads, so we look at a full year of bills before recommending a size. If sheds or pumps have their own meters, we treat each supply separately, because solar on one meter can’t offset another. We’ll also check the distance and cable run between the shed and your switchboard.

Forbes saw major flooding from the Lachlan in November 2022. If your property is on low ground, we’ll plan to mount the battery and inverter above likely flood levels where practical, in line with the Australian battery standard, AS/NZS 5139. For hail and heat, we use panels that meet the IEC 61215 standard, which includes hail impact testing, and leave airflow under the array.
