Solar & Battery Installers in Wollongong

Solar and batteries between the escarpment and the sea
All-black solar panels with black frames

Wollongong is squeezed between the Illawarra escarpment and the ocean. Homes in the northern suburbs sit right under the escarpment, beachside homes take the salt and wind, and newer estates spread out around Dapto and the west. We travel down from Narrabeen to install solar panels and home batteries for homes and businesses across the Illawarra.

Our services

Residential solar from 6 kW
Our systems generally start at 6 kW, sized from your bills and the sun your roof actually gets.

Home batteries
Use your stored solar after the sun goes down. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program cuts the price of eligible batteries, and the discount comes straight off your quote. Installed before the end of 2026, it’s worth around $270 for each kWh of usable storage up to 14 kWh (based on current certificate prices). Storage beyond 14 kWh attracts less, and the rate drops from 1 January 2027.

Commercial solar
Workshops, warehouses and businesses around Unanderra, Port Kembla and the CBD often have big daytime loads. We’ll give you a clear proposal.

In NSW you may also be eligible for an upfront incentive under the NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme when you connect your battery to a virtual power plant (VPP). It’s paid on up to 28 kWh of battery capacity, through participating VPP providers.

Escarpment shade and coastal exposure

Because the escarpment lies to the west, some homes close to it lose the afternoon sun earlier than homes nearer the beach, especially in winter. That can make east and north-facing panels more valuable than west-facing ones. We look at your site’s horizon, not just the roof direction, when we design the layout and estimate output.

On the beachside, salt and wind are the main issues. We use panels tested for salt-mist exposure, such as under IEC 61701, along with corrosion-resistant fixings and mounting rated for your wind exposure. Homes on the escarpment’s edge may be in bushfire-prone areas, so we consider equipment placement there too, and batteries are always installed to the Australian battery standard, AS/NZS 5139.

Frequently asked questions

Does the escarpment affect solar output?
It can, by shortening afternoon sun for homes close to it. We factor your horizon into the design.

Who is the network in Wollongong?
Endeavour Energy. We handle the connection paperwork.

Do I need salt-rated panels?
If you’re close to the beach, it’s a good idea. We’ll check the warranty conditions for coastal sites.
