Solar & Battery Installers in the Blue Mountains
The Blue Mountains stretch from the warm lower mountains around Glenbrook to the cold upper mountains around Katoomba and Blackheath, at around 1,000 metres. Winters up top are long and chilly, homes are surrounded by bush, and storms can cut the power. We come out from Narrabeen to install solar panels and home batteries right across the mountains.
Our services
Residential solar from 6 kW
Our systems generally start at 6 kW. Upper mountains homes with electric heating often use more power in winter, so we size the system from your bills.
Batteries with backup
Store daytime solar for the evening, with the option of backup power for essential circuits during outages. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program cuts the price of eligible batteries, and the discount comes straight off your quote. Installed before the end of 2026, it’s worth around $270 for each kWh of usable storage up to 14 kWh (based on current certificate prices). Storage beyond 14 kWh attracts less, and the rate drops from 1 January 2027.
Business and guesthouse solar
Cafes, galleries and guesthouses in the villages often use power all day. We’ll review your bills and give you a clear proposal.
NSW households can also get a one-off incentive for signing their battery up to a virtual power plant (VPP), under the state’s Peak Demand Reduction Scheme. It applies to up to 28 kWh of capacity and is paid through participating VPP providers.

Mist, frost, bush and blackouts
Upper mountains weather means more cloud, mist and fog than on the plains, plus frost and the odd snowfall. Panels still produce in diffuse light, just less, so we size around your winter usage and set the layout to make the most of the low winter sun. Cool temperatures help panel efficiency, while batteries do better in a sheltered location such as a garage, installed to the Australian battery standard, AS/NZS 5139.
Most of the mountains is bushland, and many properties are in bushfire-prone areas. We think carefully about where the inverter and battery go and keep access clear. Storms and fallen trees can cause outages, so many mountains homeowners choose a battery set up to back up the fridge, lights, internet and water pump.
Frequently asked questions
Is solar worth it in Katoomba?
Yes, but expect lower winter output than on the plains. We size your system with that in mind and show you realistic yearly savings.
Can a battery keep my power on in a blackout?
With the right set-up, it can back up selected circuits. We’ll explain which ones and for roughly how long.
Which network covers the Blue Mountains?
Endeavour Energy. We handle the connection application.
