Solar & Battery Installers in Maitland
Maitland is one of the fastest-growing cities in regional NSW, with new estates in places like Chisholm, Thornton and Lochinvar alongside older homes in Morpeth and East Maitland. Hunter summers are hot and humid, so air conditioning runs hard. We travel to Maitland and the Lower Hunter to install solar panels and home batteries for homes and businesses.
Our services
Residential solar from 6 kW
Our home systems generally start at 6 kW. New Maitland homes are often all-electric, with ducted air conditioning and electric hot water, so many go larger. We size each system from your bills or, for a new build, your expected usage.
Home batteries
Store your daytime solar for the evening peak. Eligible batteries get an upfront discount through the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which we take off your quote. For batteries installed by 31 December 2026 it works out at roughly $270 per kWh of usable capacity for the first 14 kWh at current certificate prices, with a smaller discount for capacity above 14 kWh. The rate steps down on 1 January 2027.
Commercial solar
Workshops, warehouses, retail and offices in Rutherford, Thornton and across the Hunter often use most of their power during the day. We’ll review your bills and give you a clear proposal.
In NSW you may also be eligible for an upfront incentive under the NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme when you connect your battery to a virtual power plant (VPP). It’s paid on up to 28 kWh of battery capacity, through participating VPP providers.

Why Maitland homeowners choose us
- SAA-accredited installers. Designed and installed by installers accredited with Solar Accreditation Australia, which is required for rebates.
- Ausgrid approvals handled. Unlike most of regional NSW, Maitland is on the Ausgrid network. We take care of the connection application.
- Free energy assessment. We check your bills and roof before recommending anything.
- Help with rebates. We apply the federal battery discount and solar certificates for you.
- Plain advice. No pressure, just a clear quote.
Flood-aware battery placement and new builds
Parts of Maitland sit on the Hunter River floodplain. If your property is in a flood-prone area, where your battery and inverter go matters. We’ll talk to you about mounting equipment above likely flood levels where practical, in line with the Australian battery standard, AS/NZS 5139, and any council requirements.
If you’re building in one of Maitland’s new estates, it’s worth planning solar and a battery early. Talk to us before your roof and switchboard are finished, so we can plan panel layout, cable runs and battery location. Your builder or estate may also have design guidelines, and we can work within them.
Frequently asked questions
Who is the network provider in Maitland?
Maitland is on the Ausgrid network, not Essential Energy. We handle the connection application.
Can you install on a brand-new home?
Yes. Talk to us as early as possible so we can plan the layout, and check any estate design guidelines.
Is a home battery worth it?
It depends on how much solar you export and when you use power. We’ll show you the expected savings before you decide.
